How we handle what you share.

This policy describes what this website collects, why, and who else touches it. It describes this site specifically rather than a generic template.

This site is not for patients and does not collect patient information. It is a business site for dentists and practice owners considering a partnership. We do not ask for, want, or knowingly collect protected health information here. Please do not send us patient records or clinical details through this site.

What we collect

What you send us. Our enquiry form asks for your name, work email, phone number, practice name, your role, your practice website, your city and state, how you prefer to be contacted, which area your enquiry concerns, your timing, and who else knows you are exploring this. It also has two open fields where you tell us what you want to build or decide, and what you want protected. Everything in those fields is voluntary. Share only what is useful for a first conversation.

What your browser sends. Our server and our security software record your IP address, browser type, the pages you request, and the time of the request. This is ordinary web server activity, used to operate and defend the site.

We do not buy personal information, and we do not collect it from data brokers.

Why we use it

We use enquiry information to respond to you, to prepare for a conversation, and to keep a record of that conversation. We use server and security records to keep the site running, to investigate abuse, and to block attacks. We use aggregate measurement to understand which pages are useful. We do not use any of it to make automated decisions about you.

Who else touches it

We keep this list short deliberately, and it is accurate as of the date above.

• Our hosting provider stores the site and its database on servers in the United States.
• SendGrid delivers the notification email that tells us an enquiry arrived. That email contains what you submitted.
• Google Fonts serves the typefaces this site uses. Your browser requests them from Google, which means Google receives your IP address on page load.
• Cloudflare and unpkg serve two code libraries the site uses, and likewise receive your IP address on page load.
• Google Analytics and Search Console. Search Console reports how the site appears in search results and does not identify you. Google Analytics is configured for this site but is not currently active and is not setting cookies. When we enable it, this policy will be updated and this sentence will change.
• Workable hosts our careers portal. If you apply for a role you leave this site, and Workable's privacy policy governs what happens next.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. There are no advertising pixels on this site. We will disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights, safety, or property.

Cookies

This site does not use advertising or tracking cookies, and it does not currently show a cookie banner because it does not currently set any non-essential cookies. WordPress sets a small number of functional cookies, mainly for people who log in to administer the site. Our security software may set a cookie to identify repeated failed login attempts. If we add analytics or any non-essential cookie, we will add consent controls before doing so.

How long we keep it

Enquiries are kept for as long as the relationship they concern remains active, and afterwards for as long as we need them for legitimate business and legal reasons. Server and security logs rotate on a short cycle measured in weeks. If you ask us to delete your enquiry, we will, unless we are required to keep it.

Security

The site runs over HTTPS. Access to the administrative interface is restricted and monitored, and we apply security updates. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please do not send sensitive financial details, government identifiers, or patient information through this site.

Your privacy rights

State privacy laws differ in who they cover and when they apply. Rather than sort visitors by state and apply a different standard to each, we extend the same set of rights to every resident of the United States, regardless of which state you live in and regardless of whether a given law technically applies to us. It is simpler to administer and it treats everyone the same.

You may ask us to:

• Confirm and access. Tell you whether we hold personal information about you, and give you a copy of it.
• Know the details. Tell you the categories we collected, why we collected them, where they came from, and every category of third party we disclosed them to.
• Correct. Fix anything inaccurate.
• Delete. Erase what we hold, subject to the narrow exceptions below.
• Take it with you. Receive your information in a portable, machine-readable format, or have us send it to another company where that is technically feasible.
• Opt out of sale, targeted advertising and profiling. See the paragraph below, which explains why there is nothing here to opt out of.
• Limit sensitive information. Restrict how we use sensitive personal information. We do not collect any through this site.
• Appeal. Ask us to reconsider if we decline a request.
• Be treated equally. We will not deny you service, charge you differently, or give you a lesser experience because you exercised a right.

What we do not do

Several of the opt-out rights above exist to stop practices we do not engage in, and we would rather say so plainly than leave you to guess.

We do not sell personal information, for money or for anything else of value. We do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We do not use it for targeted advertising. We do not profile you in any way that produces legal or similarly significant effects. There are no advertising or social media pixels on this site. We do not collect sensitive personal information here, which includes government identifiers, financial account numbers, precise geolocation, biometric or genetic data, racial or ethnic origin, religious beliefs, union membership, sexual orientation, immigration status, or health information. The city and state field on our form is a market question, not precise geolocation.

Because none of that happens, the opt-out rights are already satisfied by default. If that ever changes, this policy changes first and we will add the controls before the practice starts.

How to make a request

Write to stephen@thevaleregroup.com with the word Privacy in the subject line, or post to The Valére Group, 2266 E Garfield Ave, Salt Lake City, UT 84108. Tell us what you want and give us enough detail to find your record, which for most people is the work email you used on our enquiry form.

We will confirm receipt promptly and respond within 45 days. If a request is complex we may take one further 45 days, and we will tell you before we do. There is no charge unless a request is excessive or repetitive, in which case we will tell you the cost before doing the work.

We have to verify who you are before handing over or deleting anything, and we will match your request against the information we already hold rather than ask you for new identity documents. An authorised agent may act for you if you give them written permission, and we may still confirm the request directly with you.

If we say no

We will explain why in writing. You may appeal by replying to that decision, and a different person will review it and respond within 45 days with a written explanation. If you are still unsatisfied you may complain to your state attorney general. Several state laws require us to tell you that, and we would tell you anyway.

We may decline to delete where the law requires us to keep something, where we need it to complete a transaction you asked for, to detect or prevent fraud or security incidents, to exercise or defend legal claims, or for internal uses you would reasonably expect. We will say which exception applies rather than refuse without reason.

Browser signals

Some browsers and extensions send a universal opt-out signal such as Global Privacy Control. We honour those signals as a valid opt-out request. Since we do not sell, share, or advertise based on your information, the signal has nothing to switch off here, but it will be respected automatically if that ever changes.

Outside the United States

If you contact us from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with its own privacy regime, you keep the rights that regime gives you, including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, portability, and complaint to your supervisory authority. Our lawful basis for handling an enquiry is our legitimate interest in responding to a business approach you initiated. Your information is stored in the United States.

Children

This site is intended for dental professionals and business owners. It is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

We will update this policy when our practices change, and the date at the top will tell you when that happened. Material changes will be described rather than quietly folded in.
